Two students from Sir John Talbot’s School, Evie Williams and Martha Teggin, along with student Millie Cadwell from The Grove School were invited to Buckingham Palace to celebrate achieving their Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. The girls all completed their Gold expeditions together, so it was wonderful for them to meet up again in the Palace gardens.
The whole celebration event was such a memorable day with numerous celebrities to meet including film stars James and Oliver Phelps, otherwise known as the Weasely Twins from the Harry Potter movies! Prince Edward, The Earl of Wessex met many of the participants and said ‘hello’ to the girls.
A special shout-out also to Mrs Morcumb from Sir John Talbot’s School, who was also nominated as a DofE Leader from Shropshire to attend the event – “I was so thrilled to be asked to go and be recognised for the work I do with DofE participants at SJT”.
