Case Studies

We’re currently a Multi Academy Trust that comprises of primary and secondary schools across Shropshire. We work together to co-construct an education model that will build on our experiences as a Trust and promote change and success across all our schools. Take a look at some of our key case studies of our how joining the Trust has enriched our schools.

Longlands Primary School and Nursery

Longlands Primary School joined Marches Academy Trust in September 2019 following the closure of the previous academy trust. At the time of joining, Longlands Primary School was already a successful school with a good Ofsted but with development needed in the Early Years Provision.

Idsall School and Sixth Form

In September 2023, Idsall School based in Shifnal, Shropshire joined the Marches Academy Trust. In the short time of joining the Trust, Idsall has grown from strength to strength and has been welcomed as very much part of the Trust’s team

The Marches School

The Marches School became the Marches Academy Trust in 2011 and made the decision to become a Trust in order to ensure funding could be effectively utilised to get value for money solutions to put more teachers in schools. In 2012 the school gained approval for the opening of a new Sixth Form.

Tilstock CE Primary School

Since joining the Trust, Tilstock CE Primary School has had considerable growth and is now a successful school serving its community. The school is now rated Good in all areas by Ofsted. It joined in 2017 at what was a difficult time for the school with only 32 children on roll and 1 permanent member of staff. A long term plan was put in place with extensive support from the Trust resulting in tremendous improvements.

Oakmeadow CE Primary School

Oakmeadow CE Primary School joined the Trust in May 2020 as a large and successful school. Oakmeadow chose to join the Trust following a mutual acknowledgment with the values and ethos of the Marches Academy Trust, which were aligned with their own vision and values. It has continued to grow as part of the family of schools.
