New Resource Provisions at The Grove School and The Marches School
We are delighted to share that the local authority have committed to fully fund a new build at The Grove School, replacing the existing caretaker’s bungalow on site. The school has been selected by the local authority to host a new Resource Provision, reinforcing a shared commitment to providing inclusive education for all. This development represents a significant investment in the school and will create a specialist, purpose built environment designed to support pupils with additional needs while enabling them to remain part of the mainstream school community. The new facility is expected to be ready later in the autumn term.
We are pleased to confirm that The Marches School will also be opening a new Resource Provision from September 2025. This project involves the conversion of existing unused space within the school to create a high quality, dedicated environment for specialist support. As with The Grove School, this development is fully funded by the local authority, reflecting strong ongoing partnership and a shared ambition to expand inclusive provision across the Trust.
Together, these developments strengthen our Trust’s SEND offer and ensure that more pupils can receive the tailored support they need within their local community. They also demonstrate the Trust’s continued commitment to inclusive learning for all, ensuring every pupil can access the support they need to thrive. We are excited to see these projects developing over the coming months.

SA Sports Hall Progress
We are pleased to share that a contractor has now been secured to build a new sports hall at Shrewsbury Academy. This project will be funded jointly by The Marches Academy Trust and the Local Council through Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) funding, ensuring that children and young people at Shrewsbury Academy have facilities that are truly fit for purpose. The new sports hall will provide a high quality indoor space for PE lessons and extra curricular activities, as well as a suitable venue for exams. Work is due to start in the summer term, with completion expected next year, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact this will have on our school community.

New Community Sports Facility for Market Drayton
Later this year we will be installing a new 2G astro pitch at Grove School, a really exciting development for our site. The project has been predominantly funded through Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) alongside the generous support of other local donors, reflecting a strong commitment to investing in young people and local facilities.
The new pitch will provide high quality opportunities for our children and young people to be active, develop their skills and enjoy sport, while also strengthening our links with the wider community through shared use and partnership working.
